New Endings, Sweet Beginnings

New Endings Sweet Beginnings

Oh wow, it’s already the end of the first week of 2018- how crazy is that? They say endings are hard, but it’s so much easier to say goodbye to 2017 when there’s a brand new blog for the new year! I’ve got lots of plans on my journey forward, but let’s take a moment to look back and give thanks on all that’s happened in the past year…

I launched the Swahili Summer collection in June, and your response was overwhelming! The stories woven into the fabric are very close to my heart, and it warms me to know how much you love it too. I am tapping back into my roots for the next collection which aims to launch in February 2018 - can’t wait to see what you think of it.

At the start of the year, I welcomed another beautiful girl into my life and I somehow managed to travel lots with her and my 2 year old daughter. Travelling- whether to new or familiar places- is one of my biggest inspirations. I was lucky to visit Vietnam, Thailand, Bali and Lombok. I also travelled to the plains of Kenya and Tanzania- where we managed to catch the wildebeest migration which was phenomenal. I believe, seeing the world with curious eyes is deeply rejuvenating to the creative mind and soul. I am hoping to do more of that in 2018, and possibly set up new homes for Maisha too!

2017 introduced me to some inspiring women who are part of the Maisha tribe: strong, confident women who impact the community and individuals around them. What an honour it is to be part of their journey. We at Maisha HQ, love what you do with your Maisha pieces, so don’t forget to tag #maishatribe on social media and show off your rocking outfits. We would love the support from you all.

2018 is going to be full of glitter and style, I’m thinking accessories and jewellery that elevate your outfits to another level. Watch this space.

Asante Sana (Thank you) to all of you who have been with me on this incredible journey. Watch this space as I’ll share more exciting things to come, from fashion to travel and anything that inspires me. Wishing you a 2018 of beautiful moments, treasured memories and all the blessings a heart can know.

Stay blessed,

Rakhee
